Anyone who reads this blog or knows me for any length of time knows I've been a fan of Melody Gardot's since she was a brunette and had to sit in a chair to perform because of her injuries. I must admit this album is real music to its core. She literally traveled all over the globe and has picked up a lot of music traits from many cultures and infused them with her own brand of Vocal Jazz. Hints of tango and bossa nova, morrocan drums, african song chanting, elements of Parisian jazz and more. This is her most stunning piece of work to date and I really didn't know how she was going to trump My One and Only Thrill. Just wow. Enjoy!
